why do people commit crimes
most fo the time, the answer is, “because they don’t think they are going
to get caught”. Well, that is the reason I traveled on a group rail card
this weekend without the group. I didn’t think I would get caught.
Despite the fact that my friend warned me. but in his case, the guy just
gave him a bad look, and told him not to do it again.
Well, in my case, i got a fine. now let me go bakc and tell you how this
happened like terintino.
A few weeks ago i bought a 3 way ticket with 2 other friends. you buy
tickets in groups, you get a discont. when i was returning from london
that timek, i wasn’t with the group, and they didn’t even check my ticket.
Using that evidence, I decided to go on a one way ticket to london, and
use that same return ticket.
well, this time they did check it, and this time the lady cared that i
wasn’t with the group. she told me to go find the other 2 people, when i
couldn’t, she pulled out her fine book. dang, i got screwed. fine wasn’t
too bad, just twice the price of a regular ticket. 32.80pounds in totals.
ouch, that’s practically $60. live and learn, and that you get luvs or
something, but whatever.
dude
and i quite…
“i don’t want to sound like leffert, but dude, that chick likes you”…
… quality
LaMillerShidi in the house
And LaMillerShidi has arrived in Cambridge, well, atleast one part. The
miller portion. he got here yesterday after a little adventure on the
british train system. funny stuff, but he still got here. too dark by
that time for punting, so that will have to wait.
since we were by my room, we just went to hallf for dinner. not too bad.
mark says it’s like hogwarts, or maybe that’s me. everythig looks really
cool. my room is huge too.
we headed out to this club. completely emty when we got there. it was
“only” 3 pounds to get in, but we were considering leaving. just as i am
about to say that we can go, mark orders a beer. so we stay. more
people start coming in. after 30 minutes, the place is packed and
happening. i thouhgt it was pretty good.
when we leave, there’s a huge queue outside. not too bad. we check out
trinity, everything ins closed by 11:30. we walk around cambridge at
night with another exchange student, Lisa, from Caltech. she had this
predispositino about chocolate for some reason, kept talking about it.
we leave her at trinity as she continues here search. night ends. all in
all, not bad. i gotta hit the clubs here more often.
should i take up dvorak?
well, so my typing sucks, as a fact. this can be attributed to an
overdependance on spellcheck/google spellcheck and bad practices picked up
from aim. my hands float all over the keyboard, I never learned to “type”
properly. yes, this is a shame, since I am a software engineer after all.
Cambridge seems like the perfect place to learn! question is, while i’m
trying to break old habbits, should i learn dvorak and type even faster?
along with this, should i go to a natural keyboard? these choices limit
my ability to invest in a really nice keyboard, so i’ll have to wait on
that. but hopefully i’ll start soon, especially if i can find a cheap
dvorak keyboard somewhere.
Swimming through my fanta-Sea
Oh shoot! I went to this poetry night that Anne told me about. She told
me it would be like def poetry jam, which i have never seen bofore.
This thing was mad hot. They opened with this okay band. the bass
player’s neck was crazy, but I guess he was into the music.
Then the 3 poets come up. Ther are from NYC, and one from Jamaica
(Jamrock). They were awesome! Quality stuff. I have been missing out,
and I think much of America misses out.
So impressed was I that i went out and “aquired” def poetry jam, the real
thing on hbo, as soon as i got back.
This night also started a string of me doing stuff. My time seems be be
split into, classes, computer lab, and fun stuff. the more i can work
computer lab out of the equation, the better. but yeah, that night, and
for the next few nights, i did stuff. this could become a trend.
