Rugby rocks
Maybe I’m just easily swayed by my surroundings, but rigby is cool. The game just keeps going. And these guys are powerhouses. All build like trees looking like they are ready to rip someone’s head off!
Yo, you can pass the ball to yourself! That’s mad hot! You kick it forward and outrun the defenders to get by them. It was crazy!
What else? These guys just run through people, and move other players at will. Picking people up and crap. I saw a man get run over. pure power.
Don’t get me wrong, football is also fun to watch. Despite the fact that it stops every 5 seconds, there are tons of really nice plays. You get people jumping and the air and doing crazy catches. But the game is geared towards that. People make beautiful catches and what not. That is something to like about football. Score one for football.
Last thing about rugby, when they throw the guy in the air to catch the throw in… it doens’t get any better than that.
Back in the swing of things
I must say, i’m having fun here. That wasn’t so much the case last term, but I guess you just have to find the stuff that fits. Before, I was trying to do stuff like house 2, and the other option appeared to be drinking.
But now it’s cool. I talk to the people around me all the time (I don’t know why I didn’t before). The secret to clubbing is going before 10pm. Get in free. You just have to burn an hour or so until it fills up with people. And I’ve all but given up on finding other americans to go with, but I had a great time there last night.
Today was lifting and watching 6 nations rugby. I’ll hopefully be starting a workout log/blog, just to keep track of things. Why put it on a blog, just cause I can. Yeah, I know it’s relatively pointless, lol.
Perfection for urinals
So, I was thinking… the perfect number of urinals to have in a bathroom
is 4. Let me explain…Effeciency is defined by the number of people who can use them, without
being next to anyone, simply because guys want space. With 3, you can
have the jerk in the middle who kills the entire set, with 5, someone can
make it so only 2 people fit, thus wasting 3 stalls. but with 4, no
matter where the first person goes, there is always room for one more.
perfect.now, some of you anal people( LOL, “mind the pun”) will say that 1 is
truly optimal, as there is no waste, but that’s just silly. of course you
need more than just one. same goes for just 2.So there you have it, 4 is the perfect number… tell the world
really old weekend fun [again, blogger blows]
so i guess it is 2 parts. it might be sad that i still remember this
weekend, but this is a recap, so deal!part 1… mark coming over. i worked with marc last summer at Apple.
He’s a full timer. One of the younger guys on the team. He’s coming to
england for vacation and decids to stop over in cambridge for a few days.
i had a blast.we went to a club with sherry and lisa on the first night. good fun
there. we got there and the place was completly empty. we were about to
leave, but the girls wanted to stay. i must say, mark stuck it out, and i
eveen think had a good time, once the place filled up.second night, we discovered the cambridge is lame on the weekends.
everything closing st 11pm! so we just chilled, figured out how to use my
broke down kitchen, and too random pictures outside my window. marc
claims “lame night”, i say good times.part 2… with the fam. So it start on saturday morning, the ATM eats my
card just as i am about to head to london
. Marc spots me a 20, and i’m
on my way. I h\get to see my Uncle’s family for the first time. Then we
go see my grandmother’s cousins. good times. then we go see the cousing
i havn’t seen since ‘92. good times. all this with my dad, good times.
I haven’t seen this much of my family sicne i went back to nigeria.i take my dad tot he airport, then head back to cambridge. marc has left
a bunch fo groceries in my room, good stuff.seeing the fam was a much appreciated breather. even thouhg i hadn’t been
doing that much work, it felt really good.
Gmail ads way too creepy
so i’m using gmail, which i rarely do because webmail search at mit is
really bad.so i am reading one of my 2 emails… and wtf, the ads are about flights
to nigeria. but i haven’t searched about nigeria, so where are these ads
coming from? then it hits me. they can tell from my name, which is
repeated many times in the email i am viewing…. that’s just creepy
On a newer note… I’m glad they have this Gmail server deal, might make my life easier down the road.
Wanna be services
In England we have the Inland Revenue Service. In the states we ahve the Internal Revenue Service. How bootleg.
How did I ever use blogger
That crap is so bad and hard to use! when looking at my blog, why can’t i sign in? And as I try to go in and make sure my last message on that blog actually makes it up, I see that I have 8 pending posts! So i’ll copy them over here, one by one.
The only thing missing on wordpress is email blogging. I *need* that stuff.
This site is so well put together…
Back in action…
Well, my blog is back up, on a new home. Maybe I’ll keep it up this time, maybe not. We’ll see how much stuff happens.
That reminds me, gotta watch 6 nations rugby tomorrow. It’s my turn to be confused, as the brits were during the superbowl.
What’s success
This happens about every 4 months or so. What is success? What should one be willing to do to get there? Do you just do what you feel like, despite what employers or others may think. If I know I could be rich in 20 years by doing investment banking, why not? Why choose not to be well off? All good questions.
Right now, I feel like just going with the flow. Taking what classes I want to take.
Not worrying about the grades. Should be a good time, we’ll see how it all works out. Coding what I want to code, just doing what I want.
I guess it’s like what SJ said in his graduation speech. You can’t connect the dots going forward, you just have to trust that it will all fall into place. Follow what you enjoy.
Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.
